ELC is an education and language school which is fully registered and insured, and has passed all necessary health & safety inspections.  The centre was established by ELC Education & Language Centre to form a place where local people could come and learn both academically and recreationally.  It is the first of its kind in the area to provide education and languages to both children and adults under one roof.

The Centre has since evolved into an Internet Café and Book Shop, and is the first school on the Cambridge board for GCSEs and preparation centre for the University of Cambridge ESOL examinations  within the Almeria region.

ELC is situated on Mojacar Playa with easy access by car or bus and overlooks the Mediterranean Sea.  The building is bright and modern with well-equipped classrooms and ICT suite to enhance learning.  We now have an outdoor area for children to play and relax during break times, and it is also a popular area for adults to sit and enjoy a coffee in the sun.  When appropriate our art classes are often taken in the garden as an opportunity to paint and draw landscapes.  ELC is open all year round except local festivals, Christmas, and National Holidays.  We remain open throughout Easter and the summer to run Summer Schools and activities for both residents and holiday makers.

We aim to continually improve and extend our facilities, keeping the centre clean, secure, up-to-date and contemporary.  The teaching staff have been carefully selected according to their experience, qualifications and rapport with their students, always delivering their lessons to a high standard.
